| Not the little guy who still goes to work every day, puts in the big eight, and gets increasing less for an hourly wage. Not the retiree who is on a fixed income but still cares enough about the neighbors' children to vote for the school levy that will increase his property tax. Not the fireman who risks his life without hesitation to save someone he doesn’t even know from that slumlord's burning building. Not the commander of the local Salvation Army post who administrates a couple hundred people for less money per week than a mid management executive gets for his weekly expenses Not the country doctor who stays in the small town, or his counterpart in the ghettos of our cities who works long hours without liability insurance, while his brothers uptown are forced to buy two and three mansions and put them in their wives' names to hide their wealth from the tax man. Not the minister who runs the local soup kitchen for no other reason than it needs to be done. CERTAINLY NOT the defense contractor who betrays his own country by supplying inferior goods at inflated prices. CERTAINLY NOT the congressman who goes to Washington by the mandate of his constituency and then votes party line or worse for special interests. CERTAINLY NOT the general in the pentagon who takes the kickback and signs the requisition for a million hammers at seventy-five dollars apiece in exchange for that after retirement position in civilian life. CERTAINLY NOT the senator who votes himself full retirement benefits while cutting Medicare and Social Security. CERTAINLY NOT the executive who manipulated stocks in his corporation and destroyed millions of stockholders and subsequently the hopes and dreams of those stockholders families. CERTAINLY NOT the big corporation that hires the above disgraced executive so he can instruct them how to manipulate their stocks. CERTAINLY NOT the corporation who moves thousands of jobs out of this country and has the unmitigated gall to fly the American Flag at corporate headquarters. |
